An MB lock washer is a locking device, typically made of steel, used to secure lock nuts to a shaft or adapter sleeve. It prevents the nut from loosening due to vibration or other forces by engaging with the shaft or sleeve and the lock nut itself. The washer has an internal tab that engages with a keyway in the shaft or sleeve and external tabs that lock against the nut's external surface.
