An "eye rod bearing," also known as a rod end bearing, heim joint, or rose joint, is a mechanical articulating joint that provides smooth, articulating motion between connected parts. It consists of a spherical plain bearing housed within a larger eye-shaped body with an integral shank. The shank is usually threaded for easy mounting and often has a hole or ball socket on the opposite end for connecting to another component.
